A reclusive archivist is hired to catalog the personal effects of a deceased memory researcher — but the deeper she maps the woman's journals, blueprints, and recordings, the more she suspects the researcher never actually died. What begins as an inventory of a life becomes a live transmission from inside one, and by the time she understands what she's been hired to find, she realizes she was never the one doing the searching.
